Birds and Blooms Magazine

In this SCAD project, I had to create a new release for an existing magazine. I've always loved the Birds & Blooms magazine because it incorporates two of my favorite things, animals and nature! Their covers and spreads are always so colorful and lively too, so I wanted to recreate that feeling in my design. I decided to center this edition around Sapsuckers and Woodpeckers, which led me to use the colors red, white, yellow, and black on the cover. A blurred background brings focus to the bird and emphasizes the text. Throughout my spreads, I played with text and image to create designs that were both dynamic and energetic.
